Psychology Clubs

Psychology is the home of two Psychology clubs: one for undergraduates and one for graduate students. Each club is student-led and provide a number of ways for students to connect, share interests, participate in community service, study together, visit psychology-based conferences, and so much more.

Through collaboration between both clubs, students get to develop great relationships through social activities such as rock climbing, bowling, and other activities. Students also have the opportunity receive a scholarship awards through active paricipation with the psychology clubs.

To get involved, join the club's Discord for information on upcoming meetings:

Student Research

Psychology faculty and students regularly work on research studies throughout the academic year, which provides opportunity for students to be a research assistant or participant. Students also have access to grant funding through the Killgore Research Center. Students may also have the opportunity to visit psychology-based conferences as a spectator or research presenter.

Some of the local conferences students have participated at include WT's Research Symposium (pictured), the Texas Association of School Psychologist (TASP), and the Southwestern Psychology Association (SWPA) conferences!

For more information on current research projects, check out our faculty page. For help with your own research, check out the recourses button below.

Funding and Financial Aid

One student is chosen from each degree plan (1 undergraduate, 1 MA, and 1 SSP student) and are awarded the Outstanding Psychology Student award. These students have excelled in research, academics, and professional accomplishments.

Not all scholarships are available each year. Some of these scholarships are grade-based while others are awarded by a committee after selecting students who are the best fit and most deserving.

Please contact the scholarship office or kdenton@wtamu.edu to inquire about the eligibility requirements for each scholarship.
