Professional Profile
Andi Newberry earned an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2024, and a BFA from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas in 2022. She served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at her alma mater, Midwestern State University, in the Spring of 2026. She has previously taught at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Regis University, The University of Colorado, Boulder, and Front Range Community College.
She is currently a Visiting Professor at West Texas A&M University, teaching printmaking, painting, and foundations courses.
Teaching and Related Service
She frequently teaches community-based printmaking workshops and has done so at Boulder Public Library, Firehouse Art Center in Longmont, CO, Scribble Art Workshop in Boulder, CO, for St. Vrain Valley school teachers in Erie, CO, and at Red Door Arts in Hygiene, CO. She organized and led artist demonstrations for the “Water Gathering” Printmaking Conference at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2025. In 2026, she taught a Screen-printing Monotype Demonstration and spoke on an artist panel for the online Printmaking Symposium “Currents”, organized by students at the Institute for American Indian Arts. She currently serves on the Exhibition Committee for the Mid-America Printmaking Council.
Research and Creative Activity
Andi’s printmaking and multi-disciplinary work voices her fixations on fluctuating memory, defining moments in life, odd turns of phrase, and relationships. Alongside print, she works in collage, textiles, painting, drawing, installation, and artist books. A major component of her research involves organizing and participating in printmaking portfolio exchanges, a collaborative practice in the field of print that leads to growth in community, relationships with other artists, and nuanced dialogue.
In 2025, she was selected for two artist residencies: one at Boulder Public Library and one at Scribble Art Workshop in Boulder, CO. Both of those residencies culminated in solo exhibitions: "The Light Coming Through" and "First Impressions", respectively. In 2026, she organized and curated a printmaking portfolio exchange and exhibition titled "Do Not Disturb", at space__space gallery in Boulder, CO. Her work has been accepted into competitive group exhibits in the field of print, including PrintAustin’s “The Contemporary Print”, the Florida Printmaker’s Biennial, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair online, and the 528.0 Regional Printmaking Exhibition organized by Mo’Print in Denver, to name a few. She was recently selected for PrintAustin’s “Texas 5x5”, a traveling exhibition juried by María Elena Ortiz, curator at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
