Professional Profile

Dr. Reardon joined WTAMU in the fall of 2013. He received a B.A. in History and English from Louisiana State University in 2000, an M.A. in History from the University of Alabama in 2002, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Iowa in 2012.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Reardon teaches courses on United States history to 1877, colonial and revolutionary America, the British Atlantic World, gender and society, and the history of science, medicine, and technology.

Dr. Reardon is currently working on his first monograph, tentatively titled, A “Manly Spirit”: The Gendered Origins of the American Revolution. He has a forthcoming article that explores the fraternal underpinnings of Puritanism in Old and New England.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Reardon’s current research interests include gender politics and the politics of gender in the early modern British Atlantic World, and the construction of African masculinity in early America.
