Professional Profile

Dr. Vizzini obtained a master's degree from the University of Georgia in 1992 and his Ph.D. in history from the University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill in 1999.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Vizzini teaches a wide range of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Course offerings include the American history survey, Contemporary World in Perspective, Comparative World History, Film and History, Historical Methods, the Latin American history survey and the History of Mexico.

Research and Creative Activity 

Areas of interest include modern Mexico, the Cold War, film and history and pop culture.  His articles have appeared (or are forthcoming) in The Latin Americanist, Film & History Proceedings and The Quarterly Review of Film and Video.  A chapter on using graphic novels in teaching history will appear in the forthcoming MLA volume "Teaching the Graphic Novel."
