Professional Profile
Dr. Humpherys joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2011. He received B.S. and M.I.S. degrees from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in Information Systems Management from the University of Arizona. He was named the Pickens Professor of Business in 2011.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Humpherys teaches in the areas of programming, web and systems development, data science, machine learning, operations methods, and applied management information systems. He was the recipient of the Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business Teaching Excellence Award in 2014 and 2020.
Research and Creative Activity
The research of Dr. Humpherys has appeared in multiple journals including MIS Quarterly, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communications, Communications of the Association for Information Systems Journal, and Decision Support Systems Journal. His current research areas focus on developing theories of Information Systems to aid in Homeland Security efforts, identifying deception/hostile intent, and identifying financial fraud.
