Professional Profile
Mr. Hayward joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2004 as a part-time instructor. He received his M.B.A. from Middle Tennessee State University in 1979. He also received an A.S. in Business at St. Petersburg College in 1975, a B.B.A. in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University in 1977 and a B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 1991.
Mr. Hayward is currently active as the owner and operator/landlord of a farming operation in Southwest Kansas. Besides his involvement in agriculture, he was the Executive Vice President, Internal Auditor and Director of The First State Bank of Elkhart, Kansas for over 20 years. During that time he managed operations as well as participating in commercial, agricultural and consumer lending.
Teaching and Related Service
Mr. Hayward teaches principles of macroeconomics and principles of microeconomics.
Research and Creative Activity
Mr. Hayward participates in several economic research topics with WTAMU professors.
Mr. Hayward is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon (economic honor society) and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (business honor society). He was also certified as a Kansas EMT I/D from 1984 to 2015 and actively served in the Morton County, KS EMS department.
Personal Sketch
Mr. Hayward enjoys international travel, scuba diving, bicycling, kayaking, sailing, restoring vintage folding kayaks and flying his personal airplane.
