Fall 2021 to Spring 2022 RA Positions

Information Sessions

Not exactly sure what a Resident Assistant does? Still have questions before you decide to apply? Information Sessions will give you a clear picture of the Resident Assistant position and an opportunity to meet Residential Living's student and professional staff. While not required, attending one of the info sessions is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all RA applicants.

All Information Sessions will be conducted via ZOOM. To receive the link for each session, please email Jessica Dotson at jdotson@wtamu.edu to express your interest in the RA position and attending an Info Session. Information Sessions will be held on the following days at the times listed below:

  • January 20 (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. via ZOOM
  • January 27 (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. via ZOOM

Interview Preparation Sessions

How can you prepare for the RA Interviews?  Interview Prep Sessions will provide an understanding of what the process looks like, ideas about how to prepare, and what you can expect during RA Interviews. While not required, attending one of the prep sessions is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all RA applicants.

All Interview Prep Sessions will be conducted via ZOOM. To receive the link for each session, please email Jessica Dotson at jdotson@wtamu.edu to express your interest in the RA position and attending an Interview Prep Session. They will be held on the following days at the times listed below:

  • February 10 (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. via ZOOM
  • February 16 (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. via ZOOM

Selection Process Timeline

Applicants must complete ALL parts of the application process in order to be considered for a Resident Assistant position.  We offer a limited number of interview spots. Once all interview availability has been filled, we will maintain a list of applicants. If new spots open up, you will be contacted with an offer for an interview.

Only qualified candidates will participate in the interview process. Candidates will be contacted via WTAMU email regarding interview times and locations.

*NOTE: Not all candidates will receive an interview.

RA Applications due by 4:59 p.m. in the Residential Living Office
Feb. 10 & 16 Interview Prep Sessions
Feb. 26 & 27 Qualified applicants will attend the required  Interview Process
March 16 Offer letters sent to candidates via WTAMU email (stating either offer with placement, or no offer)

Selected candidates must submit their Accept/Decline Offer by 4:59 p.m.

Application Materials & Instructions

Applicants must have all application materials submitted before February 5, 2019 at 4:59pm to be considered. Please follow the steps below to ensure a successful submission.

Please Note: Applying for this position is a THREE STEP process; carefully review the following:

  1. Read and review the Resident Assistant Job Description prior to applying.
  2. Go to the Career Services website and locate the job listing labeled "Resident Assistant Academic Year 2021-2022" (Job ID: 4260936) and click "Apply Externally."
  3. Contact two Residential Living references: 1) Your current Resident Assistant; 2) One additional Residential Living staff member (another RA, a Residence Hall Director, or an Area Coordinator).
    • Be sure to ask both of your references to complete an RA Reference Form submission on your behalf (our staff will be responsible for submitting this form).
