Programming Services

Programming Services is a Division of Information Technology at West Texas A&M University that analyzes, designs, and implements new technologies that provide efficient and effective solutions for the currently utilized databases that include the Buff Advisor system, Colleague student system, and approved custom systems.

Colleague Users Group(CUG)

The Colleague Users Group evaluates requests for proposed projects and modifications to the Datatel Colleague software system, and makes recommendation with regard to the priority in which projects and modifications are to be undertaken. Committee recommendations of project priorities are grouped as follows:

1) maintenance issues

2) enhancements/modifications

3) new initiatives.

Priority recommendations are submitted to the President's Executive Committee for resolution. The Committee shall meet bi-weekly and shall report to the CIO through the Chairperson.

BuffAdvisor

Buff Advisor is the main Student Information Service(SIS) at WTAMU. Students can use BuffAdvisor to look up their grades, financial statements, current academic standing, class schedule, information about their academic advisor(s) and more. Students can also use BuffAdvisor to search and register for classes. If you have any issues while using BuffAdvisor or would like more information on how to use it please contact us.

Informer

Informer is a reporting software used by staff and faculty to query the Colleague Database. Faculty and Staff can use Informer to generate reports in formats of their choice on demand or create scheduled jobs that will automatically generate the reports. This resource is only available to those on the campus network and can only be accessed by those categorized as faculty or staff. If you would like to utilize this resource please contact us.

Uiweb

Uiweb is a web application that allows users to query and update the Colleague database. This resource is available to staff and faculty members who have been granted access. This resource is only available to those on the campus network and can only be accessed by those categorized as faculty or staff. If you would like to utilize this resource please contact us.

TouchNet

Touchnet is the student financial portal that allows students to look at their financial statements and make payments. Students will need to be authenticated through our single sign-on system in order to get access to this resource.
