PL-4 Rules of Behavior

Statement
WTAMU establishes, reviews, updates, and makes readily available to individuals requiring access to the information system, the rules that describe their responsibilities and expected behavior regarding information and information system usage. Through a system logon banner, users or individuals acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by the rules of behavior, before authorizing access to information and the information system.
Applicability
This Control applies to all West Texas A&M network information resources. The intended audience for this Control includes all information resource owners, custodians, and users of information resources.
Implementation
- University Rule No. 29.01.99.W1 Information Resources describes individual responsibilities and expected behavior regarding information resource usage. Users agree to this rule at each login to an information system.
- It is the responsibility of the unit head or designee to obtain an acknowledgment from all individuals indicating that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by the rules of behavior, before authorizing access to information resources.
- Content regarding rules of behavior is incorporated into the Annual Security Awareness Training required of all university employees as outlined in Control AT-2 Security Awareness and Training.
