Statement
WTAMU shall centralize all significant IT equipment into the WTAMU data center to minimize potential damage from enviromental hazards such as floods, fires, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, terrorism, vandalism, an electromagnetic pulse, electrical interference, and other forms of incoming electromagnetic radiation
Applicability
This Control applies to any alternative work site established by West Texas A&M for contingency operations. The intended audience for this Control includes all information resource owners, custodians, and users of information resources.
Implementation
WTAMU shall consolidate all server equipment and cental networking devices into the data center.
The data center shall maintain the following:
- Redundant power
- Redundant network connectivity (See Control CP-8 Telecommunication Services)
- Redundant cooling (See Control CP-14 Enviromental Controls)
- Adequate phyisical and cybersecurity conrtols defined within PE and SC Control Catalog families.
IT shall provdie the following other services within the data center:
- Operating system setup and administration (including virtuallization)
- Storage Management
- Backup and Recovery
- Configuration and Patch Management
