Statement

The West Texas A&M University information system implements mechanisms to Identity Proof users where risk managment decisions warrant.  Identity proofing includes collecting, validating, and verifying a user’s identity information for the purposes of establishing credentials for accessing a system.

Applicability

This Control applies to all West Texas A&M network information resources. The intended audience for this Control includes all information resource owners, and custodians of information resources.

Implementation

WTAMU shall implement procedures to:

• Identity proof users that require accounts for logical access to systems based on appropriate identity assurance level requirements as specified in applicable standards and guidelines.
• Resolve user identities to a unique individual
• Collect, validate, and verify identity evidence.
