Statement
West Texas A&M University manages information system identifiers by receiving appropriate authorization to assign an individual, group, role, or device identifier; selecting an identifier that identifies an individual, group, role, or device; assigning the identifier to the intended individual, group, role, or device; preventing reuse of identifiers; and disabling the identifier after termination of employment.
Applicability
This Control applies to all West Texas A&M network information resources. The intended audience for this Control includes all information resource owners, custodians, and users of information resources.
Implementation
- A WTAMU user’s access authorization shall be appropriately modified or removed when the user’s employment or job responsibilities within the state organization change.
- All logon IDs that have not been used/accessed within a period of 180 days shall be disabled.
- Where possible custodians shall prevent the reuse of identifiers for up to 1 year after an account has been deleted.
