Statement

West Texas A&M University users must use software and associated documentation in accordance with contract agreements and copyright laws. WTAMU must tracks the use of software and associated licenses to control copying and distribution.

Applicability

This control applies to all West Texas A&M network information resources. The intended audience for this control includes all information resource owners, custodians, and users of information resources.

Implementation

Any user installing software should be familiar with the terms of the license agreement. Users should not install any software without first obtaining IT approval.
Software of software licensed for more than one campus department shall be maintained and installed by IT personnel only.
Periodic scans of campus systems will be performed to review software installations.
