New Student Orientation Materials

Starting a new year at a new school can be overwhelming. We have designed a check sheet for students to help guide through all the steps needed to complete to manage your financial obligations as a student of West Texas A&M University. This form is also distributed at New Student Orientations and Transfer Student Orientations held throughout the summer.

To help our new students and their families become familiar with our billing system, below is a presentation with explanations of billing, federal aid disbursement, scholarship disbursement, sponsored billing, and emergency loan information. Also included is information on using our TouchNet system through Buff Advisor.

To help our new students and their families be aware of, and plan for payment deadlines, book voucher dates, class days, and university closures, we provide a quick list below of Important Business Office Dates pages for each semester for the next year.

Students have the option to grant access to their billing account by adding Authorized Users. Please be advised that students cannot set up an Authorized User until the student has been billed for the first time. In addition, Adding Authorized Users does not take the place of the Parent Proxy through the Office of the Registrar.

West Texas A&M University does not have a way to remind parents when payment deadlines are approaching except for through our TouchNet billing system. Students can add any phone number that receives text messages for payment deadline reminders.

For the Fall and Spring semesters only, West Texas A&M University offers a deferred payment plan. This allows students to divide their total charges due into four payments due once a month for four consecutive months.
