Destination WT

A destination is a goal on a journey, a next step, a point on a path of adventure. Whether you're just beginning your journey of higher education or you're already well on your way, we want to be your destination for transfer. At West Texas A&M University, you'll find student-focused faculty, a supportive community, and academic programs to prepare you for life, career and fulfillment.

For students of Clarendon College, Frank Phillips College, and Amarillo College, Destination WT is a transfer path that easily transitions you into West Texas A&M University.

Destination WT Transfer Checkup visits will be scheduled for the fall 2020 semester. Check  back to find out when we'll be on your campus.

Dual Admission

Upon declaration of an Associate of Art or Associate of Science major, you will be admitted to West Texas A&M University.  Keep your grades up, and when it is time to transfer - you’re in!

Transfer Checkups

Early in your time at community college, you will work directly with WTAMU advisers to select the straightest path to your goals.  And we’ll check in along the way, so you can be confident of a smooth transfer experience, fast path to degree, and the lowest costs possible.

Financial Advising

WTAMU financial advisers will be available to help you plan how to pay for college while minimizing your use of student loans.  This way you have not only a plan but also peace of mind before you transfer.

Scholarships will be granted automatically, up to $3,000, once you have submitted your transcripts and completed the financial aid process.  If you have 60 hours and a 3.5 GPA, your scholarship will be granted regardless of financial need.

If you have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, you will also receive a one-time $500 scholarship.

*New, part- and full-time transfer students only; must be a Texas resident.  Scholarships require minimum of 30 completed transfer credit hours and 3.0 GPA.  Financial aid application is required.

Advance Registration

At most universities, transfer students enroll at the end of the line and might not get courses needed for that term.  At WTAMU, you will enroll based on your earned classification (60+ hours classifies you as a junior) and that means you have the same opportunity as students already enrolled at the university.

Transfer Student Housing

Want to live on campus with the full university experience?  You will have the option of living on a residence hall floor with other transfer students who understand your path to WTAMU.

Housing Discount

When you live on campus for three semesters, you are eligible for a 50% discount on your fourth semester.  Stay for a fifth and receive the same discount for the sixth semester.

Honors Membership

If you are inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, you will be eligible to enter the Attebury Honors Program at WTAMU.  The Attebury Honors Program provides a broad variety of special experiences and learning opportunities, as well as the option to live in Connor Hall, the University’s honors dorm.

Student Engagement, Leadership, and Success

Being involved in organizations to build your network and gain practical skills is important to your success both at your community college and at WTAMU.  You will have opportunities to be involved in selected organizations BEFORE transferring to begin building that important network.
