B.F.A. Theatre (Design & Technology) Major
The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Design & Technology is a pre-professional degree offered to students intending on pursuing a career in the theatre or a related field following graduation. Acceptance into the degree program is through an interview process.
BFA Design & Technology students will experience work in the design areas of scenic, costume and lighting. Training will also take place in technology and the allied crafts of scenic construction, costume construction, lighting technology and stage management in both course work and by participating in departmental productions. They are expected to realize their work through a significant role each year.
Given its pre-professional designation, BFA degrees have additional requirements such as the BFA Senior Project, which requires an advisor, approved content, and documentation.
