Virgil Henson Activities Center

Since its opening in 1970, the Virgil Henson Activities Center has been central to WT’s wellness programs for over 50 years. This community hub serves a wide range of visitors, from students and faculty to families and local residents. With a membership or a day pass, you’ll have access to an array of exciting amenities:

Recreational Pool — Bring the kids for a day at the recreation pool equipped with a water slide, lazy river, vortex pool, and splash area. Lap swim is offered daily for those looking for a highly effective, low-impact workout.

Weight Room — A 9,000 square foot facility enclosed in glass with workout equipment and men’s and women’s locker rooms keeps the whole family in shape.

Bowling Lanes — Whether it’s a date night or a game night with friends, enjoy our eight-lane bowling alley with an automatic scoring system and the option for exciting lunar bowling.

Racquetball Courts -- The basement features six racquetball courts, including one for wallyball (volleyball played in a racquetball court) and another for teqball, a rapidly growing sport that combines soccer and table tennis on a specially designed curved table.

Climbing Tower — Challenge yourself on our 40-foot climbing tower, inspired by the Palo Duro Canyon Lighthouse. With beginner and expert paths, there’s something for climbers of all levels.

All Purpose Room — Stay fit indoors with our suspended track, perfect for walking or running. On the lower level, four regulation-size courts host pick-up basketball games, while two volleyball nets can be set up for indoor volleyball.

Game Room -- Located on the second floor, the game room offers a variety of entertainment, including gaming computers for e-sports enthusiasts, and classic games like pool, foosball, air hockey, and shuffleboard. For those who prefer Nintendo Switch, chess, or poker, we’ve got you covered.
