WTAMU School of Music to Present Annual Faculty Grand Recital
CANYON, Texas—Works by Bach, Haydn, Puccini and more will be featured in the 33rd annual Faculty Grand Recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall at West Texas A&M University.
The annual event is presented as a musical offering to the community by performing members of the University’s School of Music faculty. The program will include performances ranging from opera to jazz. Brass, wind, string, percussion, piano and voice in solo and group performances will provide an evening of entertainment and gratitude to those who support the University’s music program throughout the year while showcasing faculty talent for prospective students.
Performances for the Faculty Grand Recital include the Harrington String Quartet and a flute ensemble. Dr. Nicholas Scales, associate professor of music, will perform variations on the tune “Greensleeves” on the double bass, and Dr. Choong-ha Nam, associate professor of music, will perform “Sleight of Hand Rag” on the piano. Lyndi Krause—soprano, and Robert Cardwell—baritone, will perform Bach’s “Gott, Du Hast Es Wohl Gefuget” with accompaniment by Dr. Robert Krause—oboe, and Mila Abbasova—piano. Several other performances are planned for the evening.
