WTAMU Continuing Ed to Offer Calligraphy Course

CANYON, Texas—Learn the art of beautiful, decorative handwriting with a six-week course in calligraphy beginning March 19 at West Texas A&M University.

The course, offered through the University’s Office of Continuing Education, will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Tuesday through April 23 at the Amarillo Center, Room 1012. Calligraphy is a creative DIY (do it yourself) hobby that can be used for personal graduation announcements or wedding invitations and/or as a potential business endeavor.

Instructor Terri Willingham will teach students the “Italic condensed hand” font. Supplies, included in the cost of the course, will be distributed at the first class meeting. Supplies include one fine tip and one broad tip calligraphy pen, lettering guide and tracing paper.

Cost of the six-week course is $75 for WTAMU students and $85 for non-students. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. March 8, and class size is limited to 10 students. For more information, call the Office of Continuing Education at 806-651-2037.
