Nursing and Health Sciences Receives Top Ranking for Online Degrees
CANYON, Texas—Two online programs in West Texas A&M University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences are ranked among the best in the country by two different specialized websites.
WTAMU’s online Bachelor of Health Sciences degree is ranked No. 1 in the United States for Best Online Bachelor’s in Public Health and Health Sciences by nonprofitcollegesonline. The website created the Students Before Profits Award to promote nonprofit universities and colleges that prioritize students’ education before profits. WTAMU tops the list because of its quality and affordability and is the only Texas school listed in the Top 20 rankings.
The SR Educational Group is an educational research publisher that evaluates schools from all over the country and classifies them according to academic strength factors and annual tuition rates. WTAMU is ranked at No. 23 in the SR Education Group’s 2017 Top Online Colleges for Nursing Degrees. WTAMU is again the only Texas school ranked for its online program.
“Making it on this list shows high academic standards and a commitment to affordability, two key factors important to prospective students,” Taitun Ridgway, a representative of SR Education Group, said.
Dr. Dirk Nelson, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, said the SR Educational Group ranking represents the 14th such recognition that the WTAMU nursing department has received since 2014 for matching both cost-effective and high quality criteria on the online Nursing education.
“I could not be more proud of nursing’s faculty, staff, and its students,” Nelson said.
