Annual Christmas Concert Set for Dec. 4 at WTAMU
CANYON, Texas—The West Texas A&M University Choirs and Symphony Orchestra with special guests will celebrate the music of the holiday season in two presentations of “I Heard the Bells” at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall on the WTAMU campus.
The concerts will feature more than 200 musicians in a program of carols and holiday music. Each of the featured ensembles will perform a set of their own and then join as a group for the concert finale of Joy to the World. Special guests for the Christmas concerts include Ascension Academy High School Choir and the First United Methodist Church of Canyon Handbell Choir. The program will feature violin soloist Rossitza Goza, organist Raenell McDonough and narrator Royal R. Brantley.
Conducting the back-to-back concerts will be Dr. Sean Pullen, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, Dr. Mark Bartley, associate professor of music and director of orchestral activities, Sarah Serna with Ascension Academy, and B.J. Brooks with the Handbell Choir.
A reception in the atrium will follow each concert.
