Who is a Freshman?
A student who has completed secondary studies (high school) and who has not attended an institution of higher learning (college/university).
Application and $75 Application Fee
A $75 non-refundable application fee is required upon submission of application.

Official Academic Records
Submit official high school transcripts*, certificates and /or national test examination scores. An English translation must accompany non-English transcripts. Include graduation certificate or diploma if already earned. Transcripts are considered official if they have an original signature of a school official and an original school seal. Photocopies or other duplications, such as copies, faxes or scanned documents are not considered official but can be used for the purpose of admission.
*Official transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports, test scores or other admission/enrollment related documents submitted to the University via any office or representative become the property of the University upon receipt and will not usually be returned to the applicant/student. Consideration for return of such documents may be given only to applicants with extenuating circumstances. Notification of extenuating circumstances should be made in writing when the documents are submitted.
Foreign Credential Evaluation
A Foreign Credential Evaluation is an evaluation of your academic documents (transcripts, graduation certificates, exit exam scores, etc.) to provide U.S. equivalency. An evaluation must be completed by one of the University Approved evaluation agencies.
TOEFL or IELTS Test Scores
TOEFL and IELTS Score Requirements:
- TOEFL score of 525 (Paper); 197 (Computer) or 71 (Internet)
- IELTS score of 6.0 or greater
- Score report code for WTAMU is 6938
A waiver of the TOEFL/IELTS requirement can be requested by students who have attended a school whose method of instruction is English. The student must submit an official letter from the high school they will be graduating from stating that the method of instruction was English. Each waiver request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. ESLI, English as a Second Language International is available on campus for students who do not meet the TOEFL or IELTS requirements.
The chart below represents the required GPA and acceptable score range for undergraduate admission. SAT score consideration includes (math and verbal or math and critical reading). The score report code for WTAMU is 6938.

Proof of Financial Support
Students must submit financial verification six months current to the date of enrollment. An affidavit of support must also be submitted if the name on the financial document is someone other than the student.
