Professional Profile

Ashley has a master's degree in communication from West Texas A&M University.

Before taking her current position, she served as district director for state representative David Swinford (R-Dumas). 

She previously worked for state senators Teel Bivins and Kel Seliger, as well as U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry. She is also an adjunct instructor at Amarillo College and WTAMU, teaching public speaking and business and professional communication. 

Ashley is currently working for WTAMU as a senior development officer for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and works with public and governmental relations for WTAMU. 

She is an active community servant, volunteering in many capacities. She is a member of Los Barrios de Amarillo, supporting opportunities for higher education within the disadvantaged Hispanic population. She also serves on the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce local and state affairs committee and the United Way poverty solutions council.

Ashley is the mother of a very active 6-year-old.  She enjoys running with her dad and being involved in the community and state and local politics.
