Mr. Sherrod joined the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities in 2009. He received a B.A. in sociology from Oral Roberts University in 1978. After spending 25 years in the insurance and financial services industry Mr. Sherrod joined WTAMU as the development officer for the College as well as for the Attebury Honors Program.

Mr. Sherrod’s community involvement encompasses leadership roles in several arts entities including the Amarillo Museum of Art and the Amarillo Little Theatre. He also served for 12 years on both the Development Committee and the Board of Directors of the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center; the last two years of his involvement was as Board Chairman. Mr. Sherrod currently serves on the Chamber Music Amarillo Board of Directors. He has one son, Moreland Sherrod, a native of Tulsa, Ok, but currently a resident of Amarillo.
