What is New Student Orientation (NSO)?

New Student Orientation is a two-day program that prepares incoming students for success at West Texas A&M University. It will:

  • Make you feel at home at NSO and during your first year at WTAMU

  • Provide you with tips and strategies for becoming a successful student

  • Familiarize you with the campus

  • Give you the opportunity to meet future classmates and make friends

  • Equip you with information about available resources, like our Student Success Center

  • Provide academic advising

  • Help you enroll in your first University classes

By attending NSO, you will gain the information necessary to start this next step for attending WTAMU, which will ultimately prepare you for the rest of your life.

Student and Guests Schedules will be available soon.

Who Can Attend?

New freshmen who have been admitted to the University are required to attend a New Student Orientation, but family members can attend too. You can verify your admission status by calling 1-800-99-WTAMU.

  • All incoming freshmen will attend NSO in order to learn about the University and register for classes
  • Transfer students are encouraged to attend a Transfer Student Orientation
  • Family and guests are also welcome and invited

Note: Family sessions run concurrently with student sessions.

Do Your Homework

Yes, homework. Doing these "assignments" prepares you for NSO success.

Some students may need to arrive earlier for pre-orientation.
