Theatre Auditions

Auditions / Interviews are required for all degree programs. This process allows the faculty to assess a student's current skill level and give scholarship consideration.

*We have concluded our participation at regional and/or unified auditions for the 2015-2016 academic year. Individual on-campus auditions / interviews may still be scheduled by contacting a faculty member below in your area of interest:

Costume and Makeup Design, interview and portfolio review (if applicable) with Anne Medlock.

Musical Theatre, contact Andrew Lewis.

Please prepare two 32-bar musical theatre selections: one ballad and one up-tempo. The up-tempo selection should include some movement and/or choreography. Piano accompanists are not always available, so bring a cd or cassette recording of your music. Also, prepare one contemporary monologue that is 90 to 120 seconds in length. Please choose an age-appropriate monologue and avoid the use of accents or dialects.

Lighting and Scenic Design, interview and portfolio review (if applicable) with Tana Roberson.

Technical Direction and Stage Management, interview and facilities tour with John Landon.

If applicable, bring examples of your technical or stage management production experience.

Theatre Education, contact Royal Brantley.

Please prepare two contrasting, contemporary monologues. Your audition should be no more than 3 to 3 1/2 minutes in total length. Please choose age-appropriate monologues and avoid the use of accents or dialects.

Theatre Performance, contact Stephen Crandall.
