Full Accreditation. The Athletic Training Education Program at West Texas A&M University received full accreditation in 2006–2007 from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The initial accreditation for one of the University’s youngest programs (begun in 2004) was recommended by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Athletic Training and enables students in the program to take exams that lead to national certification. The accrediting agency for the program is now the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
