Making Great Leaders One Class at a Time

While it is true that a company is only as good as the people working for it, it is also true that it takes a special group of people to make sure all of the other people are on-task and focused on the same goal.

Those people are the managers, and our Management major provides the academic training to develop the next generation of leaders to guide and propel companies and their employees well into the future. And it is not a simple undertaking. If this sounds like you, read on.

Effective managers must be able to recognize employee motivations and needs, organize, control, and work with management information systems. They must be able to resolve conflicts, all the while keeping their eyes trained on organization strategies.

Communication skills are thus a top priority, but balanced by attention to financial details, as well as being able to see the big picture across different functions within the firm.

It’s a juggling act of the highest order, and demands the very best candidates in our business programs. After all, balancing corporate interests with the personal needs of employees is challenging at best, yet a requirement if the firm is to survive.

Because a positive corporate culture is contagious, and when the company is working well together, customers will notice too.
