About the Legacy The Legacy is West Texas A&M’s creative arts journal. As editors, we want to showcase and promote student creativity by producing a journal consisting of selected artwork, photography, creative non-fiction, fiction, drama, and poetry by members of the West Texas A&M University community. We strive to promote creativity across the various disciplines by publishing works created by members of the WT community in all disciplines. All WTAMU students, faculty, staff, and alumni are eligible and encouraged to submit their work. – The Editors History The Legacy was founded in 1990 when West Texas State University joined the Texas A&M System. Three years later, in 1993, WTSU officially became West Texas A&M University. Along with the University name change, the old creative arts journal revamped its name and so The Legacy was born. The next decade of The Legacy remains allusive, and only a few surviving copies from those years exist. However, in the last 4 or 5 years, the staff of The Legacy has strived for excellence in the publication, and each year is an improvement over the last. We strive to continue our record of improvement, but we can only do that with your support! Please support The Legacy by purchasing a copy from the editors, the University Bookstore, or the English, Philosophy, and Modern Languages department and by sending us your submissions! |
