LaVelle H. Mills, Ph.D.

Professional Profile Dr. Mills joined the College of Business in 1998. She received a B.B.A. from West Texas A&M University in 1968, a M.B.E. in business in 1973, a M.E. in vocational guidance counseling in 1977 and a Ph.D. in personnel and industrial relations in 1981. Her graduate degrees were earned from the University of North Texas.
Teaching and Related Service Dr. Mills teaches Cultural Intelligence, Organizational Behavior and Principles of Management.
Dr. Mills serves as the associate dean of graduate programs in the College of Business and works with graduate students in the M.B.A. and M.S.F.E. programs.
Dr. Mills is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Panhandle Human Resource Association
Research and Creative Activity Dr. Mills’ research interests include behaviors and values as they relate to student success, business ethics as perceived by students in different countries and behaviors and values of employees as they relate to job satisfaction and organizational culture.
Personal Sketch Dr. Mills and her husband live in Amarillo. They enjoy spending time with their two grown children, their spouses and their two grandchildren. When time allows, they enjoy traveling.
