Dance Days

December 2, 2016 and March 31, 2017:

A day that is specifically tailored to prospective students allowing them to partake of the dance program at its busiest time of the semester; performance weekend. The dates are as follows: Dance Day December 2nd, which will coincide with our Annual Student Dance Concert: "Falling into Dance" Nov 30 - Dec 1st, 2016. And Dance Day March 31, which will coincide with our Annual Faculty/Guest Artist Dance Concert: "Portraits of Dance" March 29 - April 1st, 2017.

Prospective Students

Prospective Students will have an opportunity to meet with the Director of the Dance Program, and Department Head of Art, Theatre, and Dance. They will then take a short class with two faculty members, be offered refreshments, a tour of the facilities, and Question and Answer with the faculty and current dance students. After a short dinner break the students will then be taken into the theatre where they will take company warm up class on stage followed by the viewing of the concert.

The December 2nd concert will allow prospective students to view the work of the current dance majors both choreographically and dancing. This concert is completely student generated and serves as the Senior Capstone project for the dance major.
The March 31st concert will allow prospective students to view the work of the exceptional faculty of WTAMU as well as world class guest artists.
Dance Day will allow perspective students to get a feel of the program at its height as the dancers prepare for performance. In addition, these days will serve as placement and scholarship audition.
