Includes tuition, books, and materials. Students are responsible for the cost of state registration and the certification exam. Early registration ends five days prior to the start of class.
About the Program
The Pharmacy Technician training course consists of 84 hours of classroom study, with an additional 120-hour internship. The program offers students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience, preparing students for entry-level positions in the retail and institutional pharmacy setting. Subjects covered in the course include:
- Pharmacy law and ethics
- Drug classifications and basic pharmacology
- Pharmaceutical measurements and calculations
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Medical Terminology
- Community and Hospital Pharmacy Practice
- Compounding and sterile IV products
- Employment strategies
- Review for PTCB exam
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to perform all the duties required in any pharmacy practice setting and also be prepared to take the certification exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
