Application Requirements Checklist

University & Graduate School Requirements:

1. Steps for admission to the University and the Graduate School are provided on the Graduate School webpage.

  • Payment of application fee
  • Submission of either the Texas Common Application or the WTAMU Graduate School Application (preferred)
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended must be sent to the address provided on the Graduate School webpage

Graduate Curriculum & Instruction (Reading Option) Program Requirements:

2. The following documentation should be included with a single email to bconeway@wtamu.edu (Graduate Reading Program Chairperson)

  • Letter of interest in applying for the WTAMU Graduate Reading Program
  • 2 Professional Reference letters
  • Writing sample: such as, a previous conceptual paper from any undergraduate discipline, or a 1-2 page paper regarding your "Philosophy of Education"
  • Your Professional Resume
  • Certificate documenting your active teacher certification areas
  • Service record of teaching experience
  • Copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
  • Overall undergraduate GPA:  GPA ≥ 3.0 or ≥ 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework
  • Must have previously taken at least eighteen (18) hours of education courses
