We have pictures from last night's T*E*X*A*S trip.

Let's take a tour of the Fine Arts Complex first period classes. Ms. Seymore has the JH (junior high school) honor (band) flutes.

The JH trumpets were with Mr. Doggett in the Jack B. Kelley Legacy Hall.

Mr. Swails and the JH clarinet ensemble 1. They played for me and sounded amazing. The ensembles will perform for each other on Friday at 1:30. The JH ensembles will be in the Branding Iron Theatre; the HS, in Northen Recital Hall.

Bassoon reed making. Dr. Bell is demonstrating tying a Turk's head on a bassoon reed. He started with one drop of Duco Cement.

Moving on to the HS trombone ensemble 1 conducted by Dr. Shanks.

Dr. Brooks has the advanced theory class in Northen 225.

Dr. Barger has the jazz improvisation 2 class.

Mrs. Lancaster has the intermediate theory class.

Mr. Lefevre and the JH saxophone ensemble.

On Northen Recital stage is the JH percussion ensemble 2 with Mr. Martin.

Next, Mr. Martin is working with the JH jazz improvisation class.

The HS horn ensemble with Mrs. Casso. They were set up as coro spezzato (divided choirs) polychoral style from around the late 1500s/early 1600s in Venice, Italy. I talked to them about the history of the genre until they told me to leave. I didn't last long. Nevertheless, I took some pictures as I walked out, dejected.

Anyway. You get the idea. Next was the 3 pm JH assembly.

Next was today's game. It was a competition between two people playing head-shoulders-knees-and-toes. When "noodle" was called, the two went for a segment of pool noodle. The victor was the first to grab the noodle.

The faculty recital is tonight, so I'll stop here and pick up the end of Wednesday in the morning.
