Application Process

• Take the ACT or SAT college entrance exam
  • You may apply for admissions and scholarships before testing
• Complete and submit the University admission application
  • Submit official high school transcript to the admissions office
• Apply for the CAMP Scholarship via the University’s scholarship application
  • Select CAMP Scholarship in the Scholarship Selection screen of the application
• Submit a one page essay describing your family background and work history
• Submit a copy of documentation for one of the three eligibility requirements:
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for Migrant Education Program
    (acquire from school district)
  • Verification of farm-worker employment status form for Seasonal Farm Work
    (print and submit)
  • Proof of participation in Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Section 167
    (acquire from program personnel)
• Complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Select WTAMU (code 003665) to receive your FAFSA information

 

CAMP Student Profile

• Currently identified as a migrant
• High school transcript shows a solid academic record 
• Obvious personal ambition and drive to improve personal circumstances
• Proof of academic and leadership potential 
• Limited exposure to higher education opportunities
• Limited knowledge and information of career fields and opportunities

 

Application Deadlines

• Application priority deadline - February 1
• Notification of acceptance into the CAMP program - early May
• New Student Orientation (NSO) - June-July
• CAMP Participant Orientation - August
