CANYON, Texas—West Texas A&M University and the Department of Communication are getting some air time in the Texas Panhandle, thanks to a partnership with Pampa Broadcasters Inc.

WTAMU’s mass communication program has given Pampa Broadcasters Inc. two retired radio consoles in exchange for on-air promotional spots for the University and the Department of Communication. “This partnership is a win-win for both organizations,” Randy Ray, director of broadcast engineering at WTAMU, said. “I’m excited having WTAMU mass communication students working with these well-established broadcasters.”

“We are very appreciative of this opportunity and exchange and are pleased to promote WTAMU and serve as mentors for broadcasting students,” Darrell Sehorn, general manager, KOMX FM 100, KDRL FM 103 and KGRO AM 1230, said.
