WTAMU Crowns 2012 Homecoming King and Queen
CANYON, Texas—Jeremy Tarango of El Paso and Allison Ashby of Fritch were named West Texas A&M University’s 2012 Homecoming King and Queen during halftime of the Buffs football game against Abilene Christian University on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Tarango, a senior corporate communication major, is the son of Frank Tarango and Sara Sosa. He was sponsored by The Wesley Foundation and the Maroon Platoon.
Ashby, a junior special education major, is the daughter of Mary and Cavitt Ashby. She was sponsored by SALT.
Finalists for 2012 Homecoming King were Job Najera, a senior music performance major from Amarillo, and Omar Garcia, a senior sports and exercise sciences major from Stamford.
Finalists for Homecoming Queen were Brianna Moore, a junior corporate communication major from Canton, and Amanda Jones, a senior music education major from Fredericksburg.
Nominees for Homecoming King and Queen must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours at WTAMU, be sponsored by a chartered WTAMU organization, maintain and have at least a 2.0 overall grade point average and be at least a junior in standing.
