WTAMU Celebrates 30th Annual Renaissance Feast Dec. 1
Ticket Sales Continue through Nov. 28
CANYON, Texas—The traditional wassail bowl will open the festivities for West Texas A&M University’s 30th annual Renaissance Holiday Feast at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in the Alumni Banquet Facility. Ticket sales for the event continue through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The annual feast celebrates the holiday season with the food, fashion and folly reminiscent of the renaissance years. Guests will gather for the traditional wassail bowl before sitting down for a 7 p.m. feast. Hosts for this year’s feast are Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien, WTAMU president, and Karen O’Brien as Lord Patrick and Lady Karen of Orleans. Servers, jesters and performers will be dressed in festive 16th century costume to reflect the renaissance theme with storytelling, Renaissance portraits, puppetry and juggling.
Special entertainment for the evening will provide sounds of the renaissance era with performances by I Cantori and the Matilda Gaume Early Music Consort.
The Renaissance Holiday Feast is sponsored by the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities and the CORE Center. Proceeds provide scholarships for students directly involved in helping with the dinner.
