Selective Service Requirement
Texas law requires that males, age 18 through 25, show proof of compliance with Federal Selective Service Laws. For additional information on job requirements, contact Human Resources.

Applicant Testing
Typing and 10-key tests are administered by Human Resources. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  Test scores are good for 1 year from date of testing.

Affirmative Action Plan
Because West Texas A&M University has $50,000 or more in annual contracts with the federal government and employs 50 or
more employees, we are required to prepare an annual written Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) for minorities and women, for covered veterans, and for individuals with a disability.

External Employment
Texas A&M governs all external employment of employees of The Texas A&M University System other than faculty covered by System Regulation 31.05.01 and includes external employment by faculty members that is not directly related to their professional discipline.  Members have a duty to ensure that external employment by its employees does not interfere with the duties and responsibilities of the employees' positions of appointment.  External Employment Application and Approval Form

Federal Procurement Integrity Act

The requirements of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act relate to contractors who seek procurement contracts from the federal government in order to provide the government or one of its agencies with goods or services.  The majority of such relationships that involve the Texas A&M University System or its members are those for federally funded research.  Federal Procurement Integrity Act Certification

Termination

A payroll change form must be submitted to the Human Resources office by the department in order to start the termination process.

 

Notice to applicants: WTAMU's Campus Security and Fire Safety Report includes a crime report, safety checklists, emergency phone numbers, policy statements, descriptions of emergency campus services, information about acquaintance rape and the abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
