He fills the position vacated by Shawn Thomas in June. As the new director, Moore will oversee recruitment and admissions of undergraduate students. Moore is familiar with the position and the work involved, having served as the associate director in the Office of Admissions since 2006. He was selected from a field of finalists after a national search to fill the position. “Of the candidates we interviewed, it was clear that Kyle was the best prepared to lead our efforts to promote the great educational opportunities at WT,” Dan Garcia, vice president for Enrollment Management, said. “He has a passion for WT that spills over to the staff and to the students he works with.” Moore joined the WTAMU faculty in 2003 as an admissions adviser and was promoted to associate director in 2006. He earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology at WTAMU and finished his master’s in plant, soil and environmental science in December 2006. “WT is an incredible institution, focused on providing students opportunities for success,” Moore said. “As a student I experienced many of these opportunities and witnessed a passion and commitment from the faculty and staff. I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to my alma mater and pay forward those same commitments to future Buffs.” —WTAMU— |
