Canyon Piano Trio to Open WTAMU Faculty Recital Season

CANYON, Texas—The School of Music at West Texas A&M University will present its first faculty recital of the year with a performance by the Canyon Piano Trio at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall.

The Canyon Piano Trio features Harrington String Quartet members and WTAMU string faculty members Dr. Keith Redpath—violin, and Emanuel Lopez—cello, and associate professor of music Dr. Denise Parr- Scanlin—piano. The group will perform a program of trios by Johannes Brahms and Gabriel Fauré.

“These composers wrote some of their most successful and beautiful works for chamber ensemble,” Parr-Scanlin said. “The two trios chosen for this recital are decidedly personal, melodious and passionate.”

All School of Music sponsored faculty recitals are free and open to the public. For information about upcoming recitals, visit wtamu.edu/academics/music.aspx.
