Mortar Board Inducts 48 New Members

CANYON, Texas—Forty-eight students have been inducted into the Scribes Chapter of Mortar Board at West Texas A&M University.

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for their achievements in scholarship, leadership and service. The organization provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community.

This year Mortar Board was named “Outstanding Organization WINNER” at WTAMU. The chapter was voted as the organization that contributed exponential amounts of service hours to the University as well as the community and provided a positive view of the Mortar Board National Honor Society. Vitaliy Skorodziyevskiy, president of the Scribes Chapter of Mortar Board, was awarded “Outstanding President Finalist,” and Cecilia Hernandez, chapter historian, was named“Woman of the Year” at WTAMU.
