WTAMU Fine Arts Advisory Board Begins Memorial Scholarship Fund Drive
CANYON, Texas—The Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities Advisory Board at West Texas A&M University is taking the lead in a scholarship fund drive to establish memorial scholarships in the name of each of the three WTAMU students killed in an automobile crash on Aug. 12.
Five members of the Texas musical drama, including the three WTAMU students, were killed near Dumas in an late Monday night collision with a tractor-trailer after an end-of-summer cast party. WTAMU students killed in the wreck were Clinton Diaz, a junior music theatre/dance major from Amarillo, Andrew Duncan, a senior accounting major from Wichita Falls and Eric Harrison, a senior theatre performance major from Fort Worth. Fellow cast members killed were Amanda Starz of Timonium, Md., and Julian Arrendondo IV of Haltom City. Cast member Timothy Johnson of Portland, Ore., and the driver of the tractor-trailer Theron McSay of Fort Collins, Colo., were seriously injured.
Check contributions to the fund to memorialize Diaz, Duncan and Harrison can be sent to the WTAMU Foundation to the attention of Joe Bill Sherrod at WTAMU Box 60766, Canyon, Texas 79016. Checks should be made payable to WTAMU and marked for the FAB scholarship. Credit card contributions can be called in to Karen Friemel, WTAMU Advancement Services, at 806-651-2067.
