WTAMU Teacher Preparation Program admitted to Pre-Candidacy by The National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE/CAEP)

 

Texas Education Agency (TEA) Exit Survey of WTAMU Certification Candidates (2014-2015) (ASEP Standard II): Over 98% of graduates responded that they were “sufficiently” or “well prepared” for their first year teaching experience.  Not less than 90% were sufficiently” or “well prepared” in all assessed areas:  Classroom Environment, Instruction, Students with Disabilities, ELL, Technology Integration and Data Analysis.

 

TEA Performance Report-Percentage of Graduates Employed in Public School Classrooms (Most Recent Data 2012-2013) WTAMU = 73.8% which exceeds all other Texas A&M University System Educator Preparation Programs

 

TEA Performance Report-5 Year Retention Rate for Graduates Employed in Public School Classrooms (Most Recent Data 2012-2013) WTAMU = 70.0% in the top tier of Texas A&M University System Educator Preparation Programs

 

Annual LBB Performance Measure Report–FY 2015 Certification Rate WTAMU = 84.1 %

 

Approximately 85% of Alternative Teacher Certification Candidates (PACE) eligible for employment (2014-2015) were employed in public school classrooms

 

WTAMU School Psychology graduates:  100% Praxis Initial Pass Rate; 100% licensed and have been offered employment in school psychology (50% in ESC Region 16)

 

Approximately 97% of graduates of the Masters of Science degree in Social Work are employed in their field

 

69% of WTAMU applicants were admitted to one or more law schools (2014-2015)

Dr. Anand Commissiong appointed the Teel Bivins Professor American Politics (January 1, 2016-August 31, 2019)

Dr. Conn Thomas appointed the Geneva Schaeffer Professor of Education and Social Sciences (January 1, 2016-August 31, 2019)
