Employment While You're In College
Federal Work Study (FWS) program – This program is part of a financial aid package for qualified individuals. West Texas A&M University hires students who have an FWS award as well as students who do not have an FWS award. Once logged into the part time job search database, if you are able to see the blue "How Do I Apply For This Job?" then you can follow the steps under this button on apply for the on campus position.
Job Search Engine – All on campus jobs are posted in this database as well as off campus jobs in the surrounding area. In addition, the typing, spelling, and 10 key tests can be accessed from this link while in the office of Student Employment Services. From this database, you will print out a "Job Applicant Authorization" form for each on campus job to which you want to apply.
List of Documents to be Presented Once Employment is Obtained – If you obtain a job, you must present documents proving that you’re eligible to work in the United States. See page 5 from the link listed above for allowable documents. Documents must be original; faxes and copies are not allowed.
Bi-weekly Schedule of Payments for Campus Jobs
Time/Traq & Required Employee Training – This link provides access to the online training modules required for Texas A&M system employees as well as to the TimeTraq electronic payroll timekeeping system.

Location of Office - Student Employment Services is located in the Student Success Center in the Classroom Center, 113. Hours of operation are 8:00am - 7:00pm Monday and 8:00am-5:00pm Tuesday through Friday when West Texas A&M University is open. The phone number is 806.651.2397. Job Search Workshops - Navigating the Part-time Job Search is a workshop designed for students seeking a part-time job. We walk through the steps to apply for a job, provide interview and resume tips and key ways to succeed in a job. Workshops last for around 45 minutes and are held in CC 113. See Career Services' schedule for up-to-date workshop times. No RSVP required, but please arrive early as no latecomers are admitted.
