WTAMU Schedules Tuition and Fee Hearings
CANYON, Texas—Officials at West Texas A&M University have scheduled three public hearings to address a proposed fee and tuition rate changes for the 2015 fiscal year. In addition WTAMU is establishing guaranteed tuition rates for undergraduate students so as to decrease uncertainty regarding cost of enrollment.
The first two hearings are at 11:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Jack B. Kelley Student Center on campus. The final hearing will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24 at the Amarillo Center.
A pdf (portable document format) of the PowerPoint presentation for the hearings is posted on the WTAMU website at wtamu.edu/about/public-hearings.aspx . The presentation explains the rationale for the proposed increases.
The University will seek authority from The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents at its May meeting to increase tuition and fees for WTAMU.
WTAMU is not alone in seeking an increase in tuition and fees; most state universities are looking at similar proposals.
