WTAMU’s One Sessions to Host Deep Diver

CANYON, Texas—West Texas A&M University’s mass communications program will host its seventh annual One Sessions show featuring the band Deep Diver at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in the AT&T High Definition Studio on campus.

The One Sessions is an acoustic music show produced by WTAMU mass communication students every semester in the studio located in the Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex. The show is simultaneously multi-track recorded in WTAMU’s state-of-the art recording studio and produced solely by WT student volunteers and shot entirely in HD. Crew positions include but are not limited to set design, lighting design, camera crew and audio crew.

“One Sessions is really all about the students and getting the professional experience,” Lane Wells, student producer, said. “It’s really great to give the students the ability to use the industry standard gear here to create award-winning productions.”

The featured group, Deep Diver, is a pop/rock band from Amarillo and comprised of three members who are all brothers. Seating for the night of live music entertainment is limited.

One Sessions has won awards in the past including a Bronze Telly Award. The crew regularly submits the final product of each show to professional organizations such as the National Broadcasting Society, Broadcast Education Association and the Telly’s.

“I am always amazed at the quality of media content that WTAMU students produce,” Randy Ray, director of broadcast engineering and faculty adviser for The One Sessions, said. “I’m proud of their hard work, creativity and professionalism.”

The WT Mass Communication program is housed in the state-of-the-art Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex on the campus of West Texas A&M University. It is a hands-on, student-centered and success-focused program. For more information, visit  wtamu.edu/academics/communication.aspx.
