WTAMU Named a Top College for Return on Investment
CANYON, Texas—A degree from West Texas A&M University is a good investment that pays off well, according to a new ranking by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online). The online source identifies WTAMU as one of 49 Texas colleges and universities with the greatest lifetime return on investment (ROI), and the University’s graduates enjoy the largest earnings gap between non-degree holders over 30 years and earn more on average than graduates from other Texas schools.
“West Texas A&M University is often recognized for our outstanding academic programs and successful student body, so this is a nice acknowledgement of how well our graduates are doing in the workforce,” Dan Garcia, vice president for enrollment management, said. “The cost of a four-year education at WT is a great deal when you consider the typical return the graduate receives in the form of a great annual salary.”
AC Online looked at 452 college and universities across the state of Texas and ranked 49 institutions that balance tuition with lifelong earnings for a high ROI. Criteria for the ranking included fully accredited institution, either public or private, four-year, degree-granting institution and ROI according to PayScale’s 2013 College Value Report. Others making the list with WTAMU include Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Midwestern State University, Tarleton State University, Abilene Christian University and Angelo State among others. The complete list is available at affordablecollegesonline.org/online-colleges/texas/.
“These are important lists for prospective students to consider,” Dan Schuessler, AC Online founder, said. “We’ve sifted through comprehensive data sources to find colleges and universities in Texas that offer a high quality education with consistent, long-term payoffs in the workplace.”
