The Remnant Trust makes its collection of ancient and rare documents and volumes available to colleges, universities and other organizations for use by students, faculty, scholars and members of the public who are encouraged to read, hold and discuss these original works. The collection includes the great writings of civilization, from Plato and the King James Bible to Homer, Galileo, Luther, Calvin, Milton, Jefferson and Lincoln.
Dr. James Hallmark, former provost/vice president for Academic Affairs, Dr. J. Patrick O'Brien, WTAMU president, Dr. David Baum, director of the Remant Trust at WTAMU, and Kris Bex, president of The Remnant Trust, have created a unique and long-term partnership to bring these rare books, public lectures and classroom opportunities to the Texas Panhandle.
Each year, WT hosts public presentations, conducts community outreach, teaches courses based in the Trust's primary documents, supports research and follows the Remnant Trust's motto that "great ideas belong to everyone." Public lectures are presented each fall at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, and works are on display in the museum's Research Center for students and the public to use and enjoy. Courses are offered through the University and the Office of Continuing Education, and the public is encouraged to read and hold these rare pieces of history.

Oct. 16 -"What do Philosophy and Poetry have to do with being President–The Case of Abraham Lincoln" by John Agresto, former president of St. John's College and former chancellor of the American University in Iraq-Sulaimani 5:30 p.m. reception, 6:30 p.m. lecture at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, Derrick Room; and
Oct 25 -Presentation by Dr. J. Patrick O'Brien, University president 5:30 p.m. reception, 6:30 p.m. lecture at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, Derrick Room
