WTAMU Program Wins Bronze Telly Award

CANYON, Texas—The Broadcasting/Electronic Media Program at West Texas A&M University is the recipient of a bronze prize at the 34th annual Telly Awards for a piece titled “The One Sessions Fall 2012.” The WTAMU piece was selected from a field of more than 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

“The One Sessions” is an acoustic music show produced by WTAMU Mass Communication students every semester in the University’s AT&T High Definition Studio. The show is simultaneously multi-track recorded in a state-of-the art recording studio.

“I worked for a number of years in the media industry and worked on dozens of TV shows and films,” Randy Ray, director of broadcast engineering and faculty adviser for The One Sessions, said. “The program that these WT students produced is as professional as anything in the industry. I’m proud of their hard work, creativity and professionalism.”

The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and online commercials, video and films.
